AMR Loss expected.

Bear96: Exactly. All employees are collecting all of the compensation that they (or their impotent "unions") negotiated.

One minute you say we are getting what we negotiated and there getting what they did. But we gave all ours up with a gun to our head and they gave up what? But you now say we should not get any real gains cause the airlines are doing so bad. But if things are so bad maybe a good leader should forgo some of there compensation (notice I didnt say bonus) to help there struggling company. Just like there employees were forced to do six and a half years ago with nothing in return.

My prediction is a net loss of $150 million before special items; a lot smaller than the analyst's predictions.

FWAAA
So which is it? Are the unions incompetant negotiators are are they just being realistic in accepting all the excuses the company gives as the reason why they should tell their members to work for reduced wages?

No, you weren't in BK and weren't forced, you just handed over your compensation with a threat and kool - aid rhetoric similar to Delta style. If your work groups were smart and strong, they would have said, fine then file BK... Same thing will happen this time and you will fold again.. Don't expect much, if anything.. AMR's loss this round is more than most of the other carriers..

Quarter loss!! This is what happens when a company projects a number they should meet at the end of a quarter and when they don't reach it then they consider the negative or the difference from there milestone a loss, Meanwhile they wont tell you the real money figure that they really made, trust me when i say this folks we are making money, its like a person crying that there hungry with two loafs of bread in there hands.... It's Contract time, this is more typical company propaganda to back up there agenda to give us nothing and be thankful you have a job. But i see right through this.. :D

Excellent use of satire to parody those who actually believe that AA keeps two sets of books.

A fools game. I guess you are hopping that others will follow and suffer compensation losses close to yours. By not going through BK we kept out defined pension, better pay and work rules. Only a fool thinks negotiating in BK was a better option. The pay and benefit numbers speak for themselves.

All company's, its a proven fact, about 75 percent of big company's keep two books, the real one in which you never ever see (that's why AA will never file for bankruptcy because the cat would be out of the bag), and the one that I call the media book in which you do see...
