We feel that AA is treating us unfair, worst that any other airline that went to bankruptcy before.
American realizes that lowest pay, lowest morale, unhappy employees = lowest productivity, worst customer service? The times are difficult and we probably are going to keep showing up to work but it will be hard to a company to survive under those conditions.
AA is trying to impose work rules that are going to bring the cost down mainly at the employees expense in a way that are going to have the AMT and other groups at the lowest wages in comparison with the other legacy carriers. The company is not moving much from its original position (the pensions is a PBGC success, not the unions), no progress.
Let’s be fair put our wages to industry standard, lay off whatever number you need to lay off and ask for better productivity. AA will have a much better chance of success doing this. The company is going to lay off whatever number they want and nothing will avoid that (only TWU believe they will save jobs – remember 2003). We should have learned the lesson, give backs to save jobs just do not work, is unreal.
