DFW
American has often stated that it plans to expand international flying, bec there is basicaly less LCC compitetion. I read today that DL is expanding again and CO is starting Barcelona from EWR.
Where or when is AA going to get moving. The only exspansion seems to be AE. While AE is taking over another city (PIT), AA hooplas 3 fl return to MSY.
What are they waiting for? Maybe, if AE takes over all flying domestic at DFW then AA would have more S-80s to add 40 flights to Mexico. After all BUENO BUENO BEANO has 4 palm trees, 7 beach tents and a stone pebble beach. But hey its cheap.

It is an aircraft problem. DL is pushing widebody a/c from domestic to international markets, but some of the markets are very thin and probably won't do well. AA does not have spare widebodies with KIX,DELa and PVG coming.

CO is taking advantage of its smaller 757-ER to reach some of these markets.

AA has not been able to get all the pieces together to create a subfleet of 757 for extended flying. Only the first stage (Winglets) was approved. Hopefully in 06 we can get that project off the ground.

Maybe its time for that big 787 order...

I guess the addition of ORD-DEL, ORD-PVG, and DFW-KIX don't count for anything? What about JFK-NCL? We added ORD-DUB, BOS-SNN, and ORD-NGO this year.

The 757s being outfitted with winglets are already ER certified, so what else exactly is needed? Gates. We didn't have the JFK terminal open at the beginning of the summer, so I'd expect to see another three or four destinations being flown out of JFK next year, including perhaps GLA, DUB, EDI, TXL, DUS, STN, and/or CPH.

Keep dreaming... Let's pay down the debt on the aircraft we already have, thank you.

Delta has 21 767-400ER aircraft in the worse domestic configuration ever done, These beauties(once reconfigured) could be used for international service. AA doesn't have any or few spare 763 or 777 aircraft. AA should shorten deliveries on some of the 777 aircraft for expansion. Double daily miami- EZE, DFW-LGW more of Asia need 777's.

I know how much you hate it when one of us AMTs turns a thread into a concession argument so I dont want to let you down

Keep dreaming... Let's pay down the debt on the aircraft we already have, thank you

With all the concessions from the twu you think we would own all the aircraft we fly. :p

Better yet how about paying down my debt with a pay raise of more than 1 percent

Have an AA day

"AA seems to move slower than a snail"

Yea, slow like a CROCODILE, "just" below the surface !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NH/BB's

I think AA has been prudent in its additional INTL flying. You don't want them going nilly-willy into every market out there. Plan and be profitable. Just my thoughts..............

Oneflyer,

I know AA flies Miami-EZE double daily, but only one is a 777. I MEAN 2 777's. My post was about uses of 777, needing more of them, not about New service.

MIA-EZE does not have two 777s for profitability reasons rather than for lack of equipment.

Going into every market with a very thin schedule was Braniff's undoing. They had feared that deregulation would be shortlived, and they gambled wrong.

Kind of like gambling that industry leading concessions that pressured other carriers and led to Bankruptcy filings was the solution to supply vs demand issues?

I think someone else has "gambled wrong".
