American Air evacuates plane for electrical smell

HOUSTON, Aug 2 (Reuters) - AMR Corp.'s (AMR.N: Quote, Profile, Research) American Airlines evacuated an aircraft at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Tuesday because an electrical smell was detected before its arrival, officials said.
The 101 passengers and five crew members evacuated via an inflatable slide to the tarmac because of the smell. No injuries were reported, and those aboard were bused to a terminal, spokesman Tim Smith said.
Flight 584 from Tucson, Arizona, landed at 12:50 p.m. CDT (1750 GMT) without difficulty, Smith said.
