Not a big deal, but why ferry an A330 empty all the way to Charlotte? 
Interestingly, the replacement engine was flown from Charlotte on an Ilyushin 76

I guess it was a good thing it was a ferry flight.

Because it broke in Rome and couldn't carry passengers, and then had an IFSD, so they diverted to YJT, mechanics from PHL went and the engine and tooling was flown from CLT to YJT.
