AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), advises passengers that due to a severe winter weather system expected to move through the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern U.S. during the weekend, some flight operations may be affected. AirTran Airways has proactively cancelled 56 flights over the weekend in anticipation of the storm.
Passengers holding reservations purchased by February 10, 2006, for travel scheduled February 10-12, 2006, on AirTran Airways to, from or through the following cities may make a change without penalty as long as changes are made within a seven day window from the date of the original departure. Passengers may also elect to cancel their travel plans and place the remaining balance in a credit account for use up to one year from original date of purchase, and the cancellation fee will be waived. Customers whose flights are cancelled may request refunds.
The following cities will be impacted: Baltimore/Washington, Buffalo, Charlotte, New York (LaGuardia), Newark, Newport News/Williamsburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Raleigh/Durham, Richmond, Rochester and Washington, D.C., (Dulles and Reagan National).
