That old comic line may not sound very kind, but that's essentially what the major airlines are saying about one another as they struggle to survive brutal price wars and high fuel prices.

I seem to recall the analysts saying this in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Could it be that they don't know what the hell they are talking about?
