I heard from a very reliable source that the name of the merged airline would be MidAir.

Might we see Airtran add St Louis, San Antonio and San Diego as future Airtran cities even if the meger doesn't go through.

Any new developments on this Deal? Personally I think the combination would be good for all the employees and certainly the NEW airline. It would certainly intensify competition in the Midwest and give swa some serious competition. Most people are surprised Midwest has lasted as long as they have as a small independent.....they are a good niche carrier which makes them a ripe target.

JMO but I doubt we'll here any further developments until after the New Year. Perhaps a week or 2 after that. I concur this would be an excellent opportunity for both Carriers but then again, I don't know squat
