Agency socks US Airways with increase in airport rent

Cost per passenger at Pittsburgh International to rise from $7.59 to $9.07

PITTSBURGH (Post-Gazette) - The Allegheny County Airport Authority yesterday increased the rent charged to US Airways, at a time when the airline is threatening to eliminate its Pittsburgh hub because of high costs.

Something stinks in suburbia! Having already read the article prior to Chip's post I have retained this:

US Airways has agreed to the increases... Why the hell would that do that? Opinion...this is a temporary thing. If they raise all the rent it will cushion some of the blow when they lower US rent.
OR..they have a better offer from JetBlue and this is Pit's way of saying....okay GET OUT and then lower it for JetBlue.

Bottom line, fly more RJs and carry less people into PIT, costs go up. But the RJ will save this company.....Bull

When they said US agreed to the rise in costs, I wonder if they meant that we agreed to it in our terminated lease contract or if we just said sure, do what ever you want and we will respond accordingly.
