More International growth to start in January.

CLT-CUR
CLT-POP
LAX-MBJ(more international seats out of LAX)
DFW-PUJ

So much for the opinion(not my opinion) CLT will lose Caribbean flights to MIA instead.

Looks like the rumour thread I started a month ago may be reality:

More international seats at LAX. :D

I don't think there's very many opinions out there that CLT will lose Caribbean flights to MIA; rather, it's that CLT may lose some European/S American flights to MIA. Of course, the S American part happened not long after the merger, as many correctly predicted.

MIA to Caribbean/Latin America was basically built-out when the merger was approved - there aren't very many Caribbean/Central American destinations from MIA that AA isn't already flying.

MIA-Europe, on the other hand, was not completely built-out by AA, in part because of the low-fare competition from US at CLT. Just like at JFK, assets were being stockpiled for the inevitable day that AA's costs were not substantially higher than the competition. Now that US isn't providing low-fare competition to AA, we've seen MIA-FRA added and we might still see MIA-TLV.

Yeah, don't recall anyone saying Carib/Mexico flying would disappear.  That's mostly lower yielding traffic as it is, and will probably be all US point of sale (unlike MIA, which still gets a fair degree of business traffic because of all the foreign banks & other companies with a legal presence there).

The addition of Saturday flying from Charlotte to the PMAA stations in the Caribbean does not necessarily change the opinion that Charlotte will lose Caribbean capacity overall. I still think it will overall see a decrease in capacity, but given AA's wider network in the Caribbean, could see an increase in destinations with Saturday flights.

Also being added is ORD-PUJ on Saturdays.

Those are weekend only frequencies?

When something is announced at 4-7x per week, there's a cause for celebration.  Opportunistic flying to increase aircraft utilization created by weekend cancellations isn't something I'd get too excited about.

ORD/DFW-PUJ, CLT-POP/CUR are Saturday-only.

LAX-MBJ is a redeye FrSa and morning return SaSu (identical to LAX-BZE).

JFK-CCS is 5w (xTuWe) like it was before it was suspended last year.

Love seeing LAX-MBJ - that's a cool add. But I think LAX-NAS - larger market with higher fares - would have been smarter.

I admit it...I didn't think CLT would expand to the Caribbean, Central, or South America, even though it is only a couple frequencies.

However, I guess with this leadership team...nothing really surprises me anymore.

Now if AA could only link some PMUS stations to PMAA hubs....would like to see PVD-ORD/DFW/MIA
