Unrelated question: does AA only have 3 gates at DCA? This Friday ~7/7:30pm I noticed 3 AA mainline aircraft at the gates (as well as an AE RJ) plus 2 Super 80's hanging around quite a while on the taxiway between the "Delta Concourse" (gates 10-22) and the AA/US/UA/F9 Concourse.

Unrelated question: does AA only have 3 gates at DCA? This Friday ~7/7:30pm I noticed 3 AA mainline aircraft at the gates (as well as an AE RJ) plus 2 Super 80's hanging around quite a while on the taxiway between the "Delta Concourse" (gates 10-22) and the AA/US/UA/F9 Concourse.

In total, AA has 6 gates at DCA. AA uses 28,30, and 32. Eagle uses 33, 33A, and 34. 33 is capable of taking a S80 or 737 as is 34, but it would put 33A out of service because of the wingspan and because that gate is not capable of taking anything larger than an ERJ. When the gates get busy, something will usually have to sit and wait in the penalty box for space to open up.
