The AA-US route transfer application is a formality with the DOT. As a condition of closing the merger at some point in the future, the airlines have to transfer route authorities to one or the other company. It protects the routes and ensures they end up on the certificate at the end of the day. It does NOT mean the slots or routes are transfered operationally to an airline or that it switches operation of the route to the other airline's crews. US-AA will be seperate ops wise for a lenghty time - normaly takes about 18-24 months for single ops certificate.

Since AA will be the name of the airline, the routes go under it. CAL - UAL had to do it, so did DL-NW.

Can anyone take anything in this discussion site thread seriously when posts and information are posted that are so wrong and intentionally so? Really people, you get yourselves worked up so easily over false information. Grow up.

Why did you have to start a new thread when this is already being discussed (as you yourself mention in your post)?
