American Airlines/American Eagle have applied with Dominican aviation authorities to begin non-service from Santo Domingo to Aruba, Caracas, Curacao, and Port Au Prince. Daily service to AUA and CUR and 2x daily to PAP will likely start in July. Daily service to CCS will probably take longer to start, because Venezuela takes too long approving new routes (Miami-Valencia, for exmaple, has yet to be approved).

They currently serve SDQ from Boston, Miami, New York City, San Juan, and St. Maarten.

Any new routes would be at the expence of current service somewhere else in the system. With the loss of the TWA 757s and no new additional a/c coming on line anytime soon, I think its safe to say this is going to be eagle (executive) flying.

Hey Mark,

Do you have a link to this application? I'm surprised AA has not put out a press release on this already.

They're probably holding onto it until next week....

"Never mind all those parked aircraft... just look where we're flying next!"
