It's official -- AA is no longer pursuing a new-build reservations system...

Per court filings (http://www.amrcasein.../3141_15463.pdf) :
Per Terry Maxon's interview with Maya Leibman (CIO):
So... looks like AA is back to evaluating the other available options: sticking with Sabre (AS and B6 use it), moving to Amadeus (BA, IB, QF, RJ, JL, AY, and AB use it), moving to Shares (also used by US and UA), or the wildcard, moving to Google's new check-in system developed by ITA and used by mega-carrier Cape Air.

Per court filings (http://www.amrcasein.../3141_15463.pdf) :
"Over the past two years, the parties have worked together to develop the new passenger service system. During that time, however, the parties have been unable to reach agreement on a number of key issues affecting the project's direction and it became clear that an orderly termination of the PSS Agreement was in the best interests of both parties."
Per Terry Maxon's interview with Maya Leibman (CIO):
"In technology, there's what they call a 'build or buy' strategy. That was really the decision we were faced with: Did we want to make the investment of all the time and resources and money associated with building something, or could we leverage something that was already built that other people had already made the mistakes and put in all the sweat equity associated with building it?"
