A333 at SJU

I was at SJU the other day and saw a A330-300 going to PHL. Does US typically fly a plane that big down there? I was just wondering why they would do that... even AA doesn't fly widebodies down there very often anymore.

They've been using the 330 for PHL-SJU for years. I imagine they do it because it's profitable.

US really doesn't have a more profitable, higher-yielding place to fly it?

It would sit all day, it goes PHL-SJU=PHL then to Europe.

And it is a profitable flight, US has run widebodies to SJU for years.

And Cargo alone pays for the flight.
