If you are maintenance and you have already recieved your buyout, be SURE you call and book at least 2 days in advance!

In our buyout packet it clearly states that we fly under our old termpass for 90 consecutive days, and then we switch to MI instead of US. NOT true.

When you call the 1-800 number when it asks for your 2 digit airline code, expect to put MI now. I tried to fly last week and the auto response is " your term pass has been suspended, please contact your manager."

And just wait until you go to the counter to get your boarding pass!!!!!

NO ONE knows how to get you in the computer!!

Make sure you leave early

I just have a comment on this subject, and I am sure ALL of the involuntary furloughs have the same thoughts..."OH WELL" I am not trying to be mean but, NOONE GAVE A CRAP ABOUT US WHEN IT HAPPENED TO US!!! Being a non-rev while you were involuntary furloughed was a nightmare!!!! It was the worse experience of all my flying years. I non reved a total of 4 times after I was furloughed because of the way the U gate agents and employees treated me. It was awful. If I am ever furloughed again I will not be using my term pass. I can not even beleive the difference between having the ID and not having one. It is complete night and day. I realized how mean employees can be to paying passengers, because without that airline ID you basically are treated like everyone else. Just horrilble!!! So, misren, get used to it, it does not get better. Just show up early for your flight, expect to wait in the 3 hour line at security(unless you know someone) and expect to have agents and other employees to look at you like you are crazy.

ok - this is crazy! I've been off payroll for almost 3 years, and I still have the best luck non-reving. First of all, waiting in line for a boarding pass is stupid. I can understand why the agents get frustrated, when there are kiosks everywhere that non-revs can check in with. It couldn't be easier for non-revs to check in at the kiosks - just hit employee travel - type in your name and flight number and BAM - you have a pass to get you to the gate - and you're added to the priority list.

Of course, if you don't do this, I don't feel sorry for you, and don't really think you have much right to complain.

Just to help all you EO's and folks on furlough. It would help us agents out
if you first tell us that you are not an active employee. Plus have your full
employee number i.e. 12345MI01100. If we do not have the correct
sequence your data base will not come up. Just giving us the numbers before
the "MI" does not help us. There are to many combinations. Just to give you
a few examples: 12345EN10100, 12345US02100, 12345US10200, 12345TS01100,
an so on. We could search all day and not find you. Please also make sure
that any parents or children who travel without you also have this complete number.

I didn't take EO but I did get layed off. I non reved to LGA & Newark seperatly last week it went off without a hitch except for ride home on yard dart next to a 400 pounder ( I'm over 230 myself)

It also depends where you non-rev out of too. Phl is horrible. I have actually went home and changed my mind because of the complete idiots trying to figure out what MI was. This was a few years ago, so hopefully they can get it right by now.

I've had a few bad experiences both as an employee and an invol furloughee. But for the most part I guess I've been lucky and have been treated exceptionally well by ticket and gate agents at SFO, ROC, CLT, PHX, PHL (really), and MSY (on the Wed after Mardo Gras) . Here in CLT I usually find that my boarding pass is waiting for me at the gate after I check in at the "no-checked luggage" Kiosk.

Just my .02 USD worth.
