A/c 428 Sold

You are correct the aircraft was disposed of.. Last we heard it was headed to Europe but that was unconfirmed..

Aircraft was decommisioned, logo painted, phones removed. We were told we had to be off of the aircraft by the 15th of Jan as the aircraft was no longer in the possesion of US Airways..

The Aircraft also was due for a heavy visit. Probably going to fly it to a Mtc Facility, do the check then return it like nothing ever happened.. Maybe we wont notice.

US Airways did not own that plane it was leased and returned to the lessor.

Better that a former US craft goes on to fly somewhere in the world than being turned into beer cans. That has happened to some former US 737-400s.

I think the fleet is now sitting at 281 mainline.

10 767-200ER

31 757-200

63 A319

24 A320

28 A321

9 A330

46 737-400

70 737-300

The Following aircraft are currently parked. 350, 701, 702 and 703.

I have seen pics of a 757 (a/c 615) and an A320 (a/c 101) sitting out in the desert too. This was as of late December.

A/C 101UW was re-leased from the leasing company and was returned to service in Dec of 03 and 615, 616 and 618 (757s) were returned to the lessor during bankruptcy.
