747 Lost Engine

thankfully no loss of life or aircraft but how much scrutiny will this incident really get from the FAA? it is no secret to those in the aviation industry of the "TOMBSTONE" theory, and with the excellerated pace at which the carriers are contracting out maintenance we will see a spike in mechanical failures and regrettfully the possible loss of life and aircraft. is $99 round trip fare really worth the gamble? roll the dice if you care to, ill just take my chances on the ground where i have some control over who repairs my vehicle!

This 747 was a freighter, so it has nothing to do with the $99 PAX fares. Connie Kallita loses an engine every ten years or so, literally. I'm glad nobody on the ground was hurt. If you saw the pictures, you would be a Boeing believer. The outer wing seemed to be torn apart but the aircraft had an uneventful landing.

Not quite, just Connie's free-thinking approach to FARs. Kinda like a street gang with airplanes.

"Who's playing? We gotta get these check cards signed off."

Connie may be bad, but there are others that are much worse and they are carring pax!!!!
