Now that we all know the 800's are coming, we were told that 25 out of the first 75 will be ETOPS equipped. Wonder if these will be the ones going to Hawaii??

The FAA does not permit non ETOPS planes to be used on routes from the mainland to Hawaii (unless they have more than two engines).

It is obvious that WN would have to use the ETOPS certified planes on Hawaiian routes if such service is started.

Did you mean to ask if whether WN will start flying to Hawaii now that it has ETOPS planes on order?

Bingo!! Yes you are correct. I was thinking this will be a good time for WN to start flights to Hawaii. We are hearing rumers of Hawaii flights. But also wondering if WN would do alot of island hoping as well? With all the 800's coming and the Wright Amendment going away in 2014, I think there will be some very interesting announcements coming with new cities that will indeed include international flying.
