I forget where I read it from, it was either Reuters or AP, but I read that SWA had a 20% increase in maintenance cost. I would like to know how we had such a large percentage increase, and where it all came from. Maybe we paid that FAA fine in 2010, not sure.

it is right on LUV's quarterly financial report.... but costs for the whole year were only up 4.5% so it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad when you see it for just one quarter - it has happened to other airlines as well on a periodic basis.

Fuel is a concern for all of the airlines... and note that WN paid the same amount for fuel per gallon as AA and DL, both of which have reported.

Note also that WN's non-fuel cost increase was higher than AA or DL's while WN's revenue increase was within a percentage of AA and DL's.
