To An Air Hostess
Little Lady of the Air,
Flitting here and Flying there,
Over mountain tops and lakes,
Courage real is what it takes
To go on from day to day,
On your highly dangerous way;
Yet you smile and carry on,
Through the night and at the dawn,
Though you know if ship should break,
You will sleep to never wake;
Still because it is your work,
You in no way seem to shirk
Tasks that they assign to you,
But with purpose firm and true,
Through the sunshine or the rain,
Everyday you "Play the Game".
Little Lady of the Air,
God is always everywhere,
O'er the mountain tops and dales,
In the valleys and the vales;
O'er the desert so forlorn,
In the tempest and the storm;
Everywhere that you may go,
Through the rain and sleet and snow.
And your mother's fervent prayers,
Her devotion and her tears,
To the throne of Grace shall rise,
For your safety in the skies.
So with God and mother too,
Caring for and Guarding you,
E'en though dangers may appall,
He will never let your fall.
