so why did they get dumped before?

Because the UAL M&R believed the ibt lies over the facts.
One being the promise of the ibt DB with an automatic 5 year vesting.

Now they are stuck.

Because we at UAL are stupid. Plain and simple. We replaced the iam with AMFA right when UAL filed bankruptcy. AMFA did not have the opportunity to negotiate a true contract during this time and people at UAL unfamiliar with bankruptcy felt AMFA could of done more. With the ibt selling false promises and gold at the end of the rainbow, the majority bought it and here we are, looking pretty stupid. My opinion only. GT

The Teamsters have approached the mechanics at Republic, so I was wondering what their track record was. They came to my house with promises of the moon.

How many mechanics are there at Republic? I would recommend reaching out to AMFA. If not AMFA then anyone else. The ibt will make promises then abandon you. Visit The-UALMechanics.com site and go into the forum and just start reading. That will give you an idea.

Or visit The-AMT.com site and ask a Southwest Airline Mechanic who through out the ibt. Currently the Horizon Air mechanics are removing the teamsters for AMFA.

As a UAL Mechanic I can say they are a big failure here. Lies, lies and more lies.

System wide I cannot say how many, there are only 30 or so in Denver where I am. The call for a union is coming form CMH or IND where there are hangar bases. I will check into that info on those forums.

Fixindaplane,

The teamsters are good door to door salesmen. They will and have promised not just the moon, but the whole universe to get elected. Once in, they give you nothing. Actually, they take from you. You pay them and they help the company work against you.

The teamsters are the worst thing you guys can do.

I agree with AMFA, if and when you guys unionize, AMFA is the ONLY choice. You guys run it and control all aspects of it. AMFA will be what you guys make it.

Thanks GT,
It's a hard row to hoe when working with stupid and you have performed above and beyond!
Best regards to you Sir!
Also, the ibt going door to door of the laid off Indy mechs promising them 'pie in the sky' for their card.
How did that work out for them?
How many recalls did the ibt get them?
Do they still have 'lifetime' recall?

FAIR WARNING!!! Run like hell from the teamsters. They will promice you the moon, and in fact they will garrentee you the moon, then once you all vote them in, you'll never see them again, and all those promices never come to light. Do youself a favor, save 20% on your union dues and get better representation. When you start to have IBT and teamster union members showing up at your house to talk shop, something is wrong, just wrong. That should have been a red flag. They tried doing that here at SWA to remove the AMFA. Everysingle one of them sent the teamsters packing sand, so they finally gave up. I would also recomend AMFA, if not, then someone other than the teamsters. Too many lies and promices, too many back door deals with the company, too many decisions being made by non-aircraft union members that do not have the airline industry in it's bast interest.
