Southwest paid off 2 billion in AT debt when they bought them.

Not really a point to be made. I'm just painting a truer picture of Airtran's financial state before the aquisitiuon. It was in their best interest to be bought. It remains to be seen if it was in Southwest's best interest to buy them.
