Lets see there is a difference from a few months ago as you posted versus several years ago as you posted again, so which is it?

Your article is from 2009, which says several years ago, they took concessions in 2005, thats five years ago, not several months.

They voted a union in this year, not several years ago, they took concessions five years ago.

They voted in a union this year because of the merger, not concessions taken five years ago.

NYGiantsFan,

Do you think organizing an election to have an union happens overnight? You think a disgruntled ramper wakes-up one morning after seeing the cut in his paycheck and says, "You know, I'm pissed and I am going to force the company to have an election next month so we can have an union?"

These elections take YEARS because they require finding organizers within the rank and file, getting signatures, having Federal labor agencies review the case, and then the company delays, stalls and attempts many legal moves to disqualify the application. You think I am wrong in my analysis because after the CAL paycuts there was not an election shortly afterwards? You said it best in a prior post... "guess you dont know what happens."

So Corrects (Again) Jester.

They dont take years, I have been part of many campaigns, cards are only good for one year.

Lets see lets see the IAM and AFA filed 14 days ago and elections are now set for DL.

Keep grasping at straws.

HP never had "rent" as defined as EXCESS PROFITS above the expected rate of return! Lucky to have ANY profits in 23 years of operation and HP did NOT come into existance until AFTER the CAB was all but eliminated!

SO HP treated their employees poorly because profits were poor and came into existence post CAB and regulation. Thank You for your insight.

Question: Who supervises the recall process for furloughs? It seems like one very small department calls all the shots. They "draw a name" tell the station who the person is to call, and voila, that is the next contestant to play the recall game. It seems crooked. I know for a fact that at least 3 f/t people have been by-passed. There must be things they don't tell you when you get your packet that become applicable during the process. Hmmm. Another thing, the union does not follow up to make sure that the people who should be getting called. get called. The stations do not have a master list either.... so this one little department runs the whole show. Who corrects them when they are WRONG??!!??

In business you don’t get what you deserve you get what you negotiate. Unless you live in the world of a Jester.

That is a very true statement JJ...

As applicable to business as LABOR is... it’s certainly a factor!

Fortunately for Feet Service... a Collective Bargaining Unit can accomplish a great deal when negotiating with Big Business through our collective leverage. This would not be the case for a lone individual that is caught up in the dynamics of profit over all else!

I have concluded that Jester’s ideology is nothing more than word processed anti-labor propaganda intended to weaken, and delude the work group. Only he knows the real story... wnink...wink...

So proclaims LABOR DAY as sacred...

Good morning. Does anyone in Charlotte know if Fleet Service is going to have to re-bid ?
Opinions expressed are my own.
